Large French Antique Terracotta Oil Jar, Rustic Clay Storage Pot c.1900

A large French terracotta oil jar once used for walnut oil storage — simple, functional, and rich in surface character. The softly curved shape and double-handle design speak of rural life and timeworn utility.

Known locally as a "jarre à huile," this jar would have sat in cool cellars or kitchens, storing precious nut oil pressed on the farm. Today, it offers quiet presence as a sculptural accent or rustic vessel for dried stems.

✻ We love it paired with dried teasel, olive branches, or placed on an old wooden bench where light can catch its textured surface.
