cathedral-painting
Original 1955 Oil Painting Saint-Corentin Cathedral Quimper Brittany France, Vintage Mid Century French Architecture Fine Art on Board

A vintage oil painting on wooden board depicting the Saint-Corentin Cathedral in Quimper, Brittany, France. This painting has been beautifuly rendered in an impressionistic style by the artist and its colours change according to the lighting conditions - in the sunlight the twin towers of the cathedral really pop. The people in the painting are wearing traditional Breton attire which makes us think this art may have been inspired by an older piece of art.

This wonderful old painting has been signed by the artist 'F. Saries (or something similar), cordialement, F. Bernard, 1955'' or ''To Mrs Saries, cordially, F.Bernard, 1955''.

Origin : France

Period : 1955

Materials : oil paint, wooden board

Dimensions :

Height: 35 cm (approx. 13 and 3/4 '')

Width: 27 cm (approx. just over 10.5 '')

Condition : very good used vintage with minor age-related wear.
